Nine week Project

I'm a student that attends Spring Woods High School and I been in this Sports Marketing class for the past nine weeks. We have learned many parts in the sports marketing area. For the first couple of weeks we learned about the marketing mix also known as the 4 P's. The 4 P's are product, place, promotion, and price. The 4 P's help a company out in order for them to maintain a good business and for the company to be successful. Product is what the company is selling to the customer. Place is where the company sells it product to the customers and the methods used to make products available to the customer. Promotion is the way a company put its product out there. Finally price is the amount a customer is goin to buy on the product. After the 4 P's we learned about the 7 keys of marketing. The seven keys are interdependent which means they all rely on one another for a company to be successful. The seven keys contain Product/Service Management, distribution, selling, marketing-information management, financing, pricing, promotion. We focused on the seven key functions for about 3 and half weeks. The last thing we had learned is called STP. STP stands for Segment, Target, and Position. The company uses STP to focus on what customers they are going to try to sell their product too. This is basically what we learned for the nine weeks. So far in sports marketing I have had a blast and a fun time learning about SPORTS MARKETING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephon Marbury Sneakers

In sports marketing class I seen a video that included Stephon Marbury and his shoes. The video showed what Marbury had done for his community. Marbury had came out with a line of sneakers called Starbury's. His shoes were affordable enough for the less unforturnate. His shoes were priced at 15 dollars. Stephon's mom was explaining in the video that why are people going to choose a pair of a hundred dollar shoes instead of food for the house. So with affordable shoes it helps out family buy their children a pair of good shoes and have money left over for their other needs. The difference between wanting someting and needing something is that you can't go without it like for example food products. A want is a luxury and you don't really need it. I buy fashion based on a mixture of my swag and what everybody else is wearing.
